In 1993, China denounces the planned economy & declares to introduce socialist market economy. The most significant achievements in China from 1978 until to date includes:
- Democratic growth of the non-state economy
- Rapid development of the commodity market
- Economic decentralization
- Trade liberalization
China has gained tremendously from marketization and the accelerated speed of globalization. However, grave flaws in the economic governance system continue to exist,
- Excessive government control over economic investment
- Financial market is underdeveloped
- Undesirable legal environment
- Lag of government sector reform
- Large gaps among regions in marketization
Why introduce democracy? Why change a Winning Team? Reasons:
- The central leadership has no direct contact with the people
- Fiscal centralism starves local governments of funds – causes them to extract excessive/ illegal taxes and fees
- State and party officials are not accountable to the people, but to the party alone
- Public concerns after ecological, work safety & health scandals
- Creation of “citizens’ watch” groups seeking public acknowledgement/ embarrassment of officials
- Local government forced to respond (detentions, hearings, restructuring public administration)
Conclusion: So does China need democracy?
- Yes, to makes officials and politicians accountable to the people and reduces social tensions
- The democartic process creates a dispute settlement mechanism and reduces social tensions
Technical analysis via status graphic & chart can demonstrated that the share market was the most lucrative during the period of 1980 to 1986. When the prices go up; the volume will come down, and the charts always help to aggregate the value of market.
Stock market is the reflection of the economy and“Distribution” is the creation of the market, and the small players should never go to speculative stock.
“Self Discipline” is the essential attitude in stock market. A stock market investor not to listen to the “horses mouth” to make an investment and not to invest their entire property in the stock market.
The “Rule of Arms” – to reserve a minimum of 30% safe property.
If you do not have the pain tolerance, don’t do it, never invest in stock market if you can’t bear the lost and he reminded that never borrow money for stock market investment.
Small investors should be selective and get close with the fund manager. Knowing who is running & how well does the organization perform are essential elements to be clarified.
There were no guarantee returns in stock market, never invest your entire property and do not forget to practice the “Rule of Arm” all the time. Always find out who is behind & understand the background while you decided to invest.
Read that Political Perception among youth is:
35% had no ideas on politics
26% had a very negative views of politics
When we talked about youth, we may have the tendency to either stereotype them as people who are still immature or over-stretch their age classification like what some so-called youth organisations and political parties like to do.
It is easy that young people are not interested in politics. It is also easy to claim that most of them are apathetic – that’s why there are so few of them in politics. However, we should not forget that Chin Peng joined the Communist Party of Malaya at a tender age of 15, led the Malayan Peoples Anti-Japanese Army at 18, and became the CPM Secretary-General at 23. Up to the early 1970s, student activists in Malaysia were still championing various social and political issues.
It’s a combination of social and policy factors that created the conditions we have today. The fact that the Universities and University Colleges Act is on e of the major policy factors that created a society of apathetic youth. The fact is Malaysian Youths are not politically apathetic by nature.
We need to know more of the history of the Local Government Act and the roles/functions of the local government.
These local government affairs need to meet the expectations of people towards the local government authority.
The effort of bringing back elections for local government representatives and its rationale as well as the benefits.
The more educated rakyat wanted the local government to be more transparent and accountable to the people so they can perform more efficiently and effectively, because they know performance of the local government affects every facets of the society.
Problems of ignorance and power abuse by certain councilors are causing woes to the people, as too much self-interest is involved in the local government machinery. Only through proper governance and scrutiny by the public can bring efficiency to the councilors’ performance.
The urgent need to bring positive changes to the local government but the leadership faced many constraints and dilemmas of voicing the people’s concern. Therefore, the people also played an important role by adopting positive attitude in cooperating with the local government to make the country a better place to live in.
People should also be educated when highlighting problems to the local authority. However, most of the time, members of the public were disappointed as none of the councilors was present to hear their woes and grouses since their voices couldn’t be channeled to the relevant authorities.
We men are two to three times less likely than women to seek help for their health. This puts men at a disadvantage because they may not know that they have health problems like diabetes, heart disease or prostate problems.
According to my doctor, the attitudes of men in the Asian culture are a stumbling block and men do not seek help as often as women do and spend less time with doctors. Unfortunately, this means that men bear a heavy health burden in the later part of their lives. Studies have shown that 90% of medical care costs are spent on the last 10 years of a man’s life.
Men’s health problems are an increasing concern among healthcare professionals. There is still very little known about the kinds of health problems that are more prevalent among Malaysian men. In comparison, women’s health issues like breast cancer, cervical cancer and menopause have been the focus of healthcare professionals and governments, and as a result, the standards of management of such conditions have generally improved.
We need to be able to bring men’s health standards up to par, with a landmark study looking at Malaysian men’s disease burden and their health concerns. There is a rapidly increasing need for health professionals to address the medical concerns of men in an integrated, comprehensive and preventative manner. They need to reverse the prevalent trend towards men suffering suboptimal quality of life and dying early and often unnecessarily from largely preventable causes.
